Hello there. I am a self-taught fibre artist and maker specialising in luxury handwoven wallhangings, bespoke fibre work and handcrafted jewellery woven art. From my home studio in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, I use a mix of weaving, embroidery, punch needle and tufting to create contemporary tactile work.
My work focuses on colour, texture and shape, drawing design inspiration from the everyday. I began weaving in 2017, influenced by a desire to find healing through creativity and the outdoors. Using creativity as a tool for wellbeing, I have shared this through community projects and workshops since 2019.
I actively use my practice and my work to talk about important social issues. I think everyone is an artist, and believe everyone can be an activist. I regularly engage with others about difficult and important themes like sexual assault, and hope that I can offer understanding, and the ability to heal through my creativity and participatory practice.
